Open to 2012 HBFF Storyteller Semi-Finalists & Finalists only

In this intensive, two-day workshop, writers bring with them 3-5 pitches for potential, not-yet-written feature film projects.  Each pitch should be typed on a sheet of paper and should be no longer than 2-3 sentences in length.  Always pitch from the point of view of story’s protagonist.  All pitches are discussed for their viability as a motion picture, able to move and entertain audiences.  The most viable pitch presented by each writer will then be further developed with an eye to working up a strong narrative through-line, affecting characters, character arcs, subplot, and a sense of what writer’s story is about most, i.e. what the writer is trying to communicate most in telling the story being told.  The start of the workshop will commence with a brief lecture on screenwriting theory.  The goal of the workshop is to help inform, develop, support, and encourage the next works of each HBFF Storyteller finalist.
